Love of Literature/ Black Hawk Helicopter
What a wonderful day we had! To celebrate Valentine’s Day we had a “Love of Literature” day at school. Each class rotated to the different 1st grade classrooms where they took part in special activities centered around literature. We also had the amazing opportunity to see a black hawk helicopter. The students were able to climb inside the helicopter, sit in the pilot’s seat, and speak to the pilots of the helicopter. They also had the chance to sit in a police car, where they each had a turn to honk the horn, and look around an ambulance vehicle. To end the day, we exchanged valentines and got hyped up on sugar. 100th Day of School!
It is crazy to think that we have reached the 100th day of school. The year is flying by! We had a fun-filled day of celebration. We made a 100th day trail mix to munch on during the day. We participated in collecting 100 boxes for the needy. We wrote 100 tally marks on a headband, completed a 100’s grid, and walked 100 steps around the room. Our favorite activities were the launching of the 100 balloons and our 100’s day dance party! I can proudly say that my students are 100 days smarter!

The Human Body!

We have just finished up our unit on the Human Body. The students learned all about the organs and muscles that help keep our bodies working. To end our unit, we went on a field trip to see Mr. Slim Goodbody. They loved the show and now know how to take good care of their body!
