Dr. Seuss Week
In honor of the wonderful author, Dr. Seuss, PBS dedicated an entire week to celebrating many of his books. With Green Eggs and Clothes Day, Fox in Socks, Cat in the Hat, and I Can Read with my Eyes Shut day, we had plenty of fun during the week! We also had a special visit from Dr. Mayes who read Yurtle the Turtle to the class. It is always fun to dress up at school and here are a few pics from throughout the week.

100th Day of School
We have officially been in first grade for 100 days! To celebrate, we spent a whole day devoted to learning about different ways to make 100. We created 100th day Chex Mix, counted 100 footsteps, and made tally mark headbands. We also had a balloon launch from the football field. The kids hope to have some returned to see how far the balloons traveled.
