Silly Putty

We had some special visitors from LSU come and do a fun experiment with the class. They mixed water, borax and glue to make silly putty. The kids were so impressed and loved playing with the putty! I apologize for the mess your child may make with the putty at home :). 

International Dot Day

Today we celebrated International Dot Day at school. We read the book "The Dot" by Peter Reynolds and did a fun activity with Mrs. Garon's 3rd grade class. Each student was paired with a 3rd grader and had to think of inspirational words to make out of dots. They really enjoyed partnering with the "big kids"!

Bee of the Week: Ashley

Our bee of the week this week is Ashley! We have learned some special facts about Ashley. She loves the color pink, horses, watermelon, tennis, and playing with friends. When she grows up she wants to be a teacher and a cowgirl. We are having a great time learning about Ashley!

Apples

We finished our apple unit up with a couple trips to the science lab with Mrs. Cori. The students were able to taste apple pie, applesauce, apple cider and much more. We also measured, weighed, and cut open the apples to identify the different parts. We had a lot of fun with this unit and now it's on to our next unit!

Subtraction Slides

We began chapter 2 in math today... Subtraction! To kick it off we play a game called subtraction slides. The kids had a lot of fun playing and didn't even realize how much math they were doing!
