Mrs. Cowart Visits

This week our writing prompt is “If I was a Superhero”. When Mrs. Cowart saw how good the kids writing was she told me she wanted to come teach a lesson. The kids were very excited to work with their principal! They wrote a hilarious superhero story titled “Diaper Hero.”

Pajama Day!
Health week has been so much fun! The students have learned many ways to keep their body healthy as they grow. Pajama day helped promote getting enough sleep. I’ll admit, I didn’t mind working in my jammies! Here are a couple pictures of the students in their adorable PJs.

Shaving Cream Spelling

To celebrate the last spelling test of the nine weeks, we practiced our words with shaving cream spelling! The kids loved it! I would call out a word and they would spell it out in the shaving cream. It was a bit messy…sorry if your child came home smelling like an old man J .

Science lab

One of the first grade moms came to do a special lab with our class on Tuesday. The students learned how to read a thermometer and record the temperature. They watched the thermometer reading decrease when touching an ice pack and then increase when using a flash light. They loved the hands-on aspect of the lab and enjoyed working with their friends!

Popsicles

We filled our compliment chart!! YAY! Every time another teacher gives our class a compliment, the students get a letter added to the chart. The students earned all of their letters so we had a popsicle party. Since it was such a beautiful day on Friday, we went outside to enjoy our treat. Good thing because we were very messy!
