Pumpkin Lab day 2&3

Well if you are still wondering if a pumpkin will sink or float in water.... It floats! We had 2 students make the correct prediction. They were amazed when it didn't sink to the bottom. The students had the chance to taste pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, and pumpkin seeds. The class favorite was Coach Cole's pumpkin bread!

Pumpkin Lab Day 1

This week we are studying all about pumpkins. Today we went to the science lab where we made predictions and estimations on the height and circumference of a pumpkin. Each student pulled a piece of yarn to make their predictions of the circumference. Then we found the actual measurement. A few students had a perfect prediction! Then we estimated the height of the pumpkin and measured it with snap cubes. Tomorrow we will learn if a pumpkin will sink or float! What is your guess??
